The arrival of the Czech dvb-t2 era

The end of DVB-T broadcast in Prague and Central Bohemia was officially announced before midnight on 2019.11.27(Local time).

One minute before midnight on 2019.11.27, employees of the Czech Radio Communications Regulatory Center were instructed to close the DVB-T software of PragueŽižkov and Cukrák transmitters, marking the beginning of the final phase of the transition to the new TV broadcast format. It is reported that this phase will continue until mid-2020, after which all viewers will use TVs that support the DVB-T2 / HEVC standard. In Czech television, a successful transition to the new standard also means reception at its HDTV stations.

The Czech people are also working hard to prepare for the transition to the DVB-T2 broadcasting standard that was not supported by old TVs. Sales of set-top boxes and TV sets in the Czech Republic continue to grow abnormally, especially in Prague, where November sales exceeded October ten percent.

DVB-T2 standard was announced early in June 2008. Britain, Sweden, Denmark, Italy and other countries have completed the transformation of dvb-txiangdvb-t2. It is estimated that by 2022, DVB-T2 will cover 72% of European households. Compared to dvb-t, dvb-t2 has many overwhelming advantages. Among several major digital television terrestrial transmission standards (DVB-T, ISDB-T, DTMB, DVB-T2), DVB-T2 is the latest to emerge, and it is also a master who has integrated various latest technologies. ì

DVB-T2 has the following advantages:
1) Support higher order modulation, up to 256QAM;
2) Use better LDPC + BCH concatenated error correction coding;
3) Support more FFT points, up to 32 768, and added extended subcarrier mode;
4) Support more guard interval options, the minimum guard interval is 1/128;
5) Optimized continuous and discrete pilots to reduce pilot overhead
6) Constellation rotation is used, which greatly enhances the resistance to IQ circuit damage.

DVB-T2 has significant advantages over other digital terrestrial television transmission systems (DTT) in terms of transmission rate (spectrum efficiency) and flexibility at the user level.
